Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near East Brundage Lane

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 13, 2024) – Early Monday morning, one man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Quantico Avenue near Oakridge. 

Police responded to the scene around 5:12 a.m., in the area of Quantico Avenue and East Brundage Lane. 

Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver of a westbound white pickup-truck hit a pedestrian at the intersection. Investigators say the pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk in a south direction. 

Responding emergency units declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.

Authorities said the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking those who witnessed the fatal accident to call their offices as soon as possible.
