71-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Bicycle Collision near Mountain Hawk Park

CHULA VISTA, CA (August 12, 2024) – A bicycle accident on Wueste Road sent one unidentified man to a hospital, on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the 1600 block of Wueste Road, near Mountain Hawk Park around 12:27 p.m.

For reasons under investigation, the female driver of a vehicle struck a male bicyclist in the area. Police officers only described her as a woman in her 30s.

Emergency medical personnel transported the 71-year-old man to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.

Meanwhile, responding U.S. Border Patrol nearby arrested the female driver involved for charges unrelated to the collision. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the collision.

At this time, the Chula Vista Police continue to investigate the incident.
