One Driver Fatally Injured in Three-Vehicle Accident on Eubank Boulevard Northeast

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 12, 2024) – Sunday, one driver was pronounced dead after a 3-car red-light collision on Menaul Boulevard Northeast.

The Albuquerque Police Department responded to the scene just after 6:00 p.m., near Eubank Boulevard Northeast on August 4th.

Reports indicate that the driver of a westbound vehicle ran a red-light at the intersection and struck another vehicle that was heading south on Eubank Boulevard. A third vehicle that was turning onto eastbound Menaul Boulevard also became involved.

Upon arrival, responding crews located a driver who was ejected from their vehicle onto the road. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding roadway for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, authorities determined that impairment did not play a role in the collision.

The red-light collision on Menaul Boulevard remains under investigation by the APD’s Fatal Crash Team.
