Unidentified Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Wilson Road

HUMBLE, TX (August 8, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, one man was pronounced dead after a red-light accident on Atascocita Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., near Wilson Road on July 30th.

Responding troopers determined that a driver ran a red light at the intersection and collided with an Uber vehicle, driven by a 41-year-old man.

Medical personnel took all occupants inside the Uber, the driver and a family of five, to a local hospital for further treatment.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, crews pronounced the suspect driver dead at the scene. During investigation, police officers found a can of beer on his lap.

Consequently, officers blocked the roadway while they clear out the scene, and lanes were reopened by 5:00 a.m. No additional information was added at this time, and the HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division is handling further investigation.

Sincere sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased man.
