Unidentified Male Driver Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Avenue 9 and 12

MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 7, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, one man was pronounced dead after a semi-truck accident on Highway 99.

The incident happened just after 12:00 p.m., between Avenues 9 and 12 on July 25th.

According to reports, a 51-year-old semi-truck driver exited his disabled vehicle on the right shoulder, possibly to perform repairs during heavy traffic on Highway 99. Another semi-truck carrying produce then veered right from the adjacent lane and collided with the disabled truck’s left rear.

As a result, the impact killed the haulier driver, who was found underneath his vehicle. The uninjured second truck driver is cooperating with authorities.
