Man Killed, Women Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident near Canyon Road East

PIERCE COUNTY, WA (August 7, 2024) – Wednesday evening, one man was fatally injured in a wrong-way collision on State Route 512.

Washington State Patrol officers responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., near Canyon Road East on July 24th.

Police officers say the 58-year-old male driver of a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette was heading east and veered into the oncoming lanes. There, the Chevy collided head-on with another vehicle occupied by three women.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the driver of the Chevy dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

In addition, paramedics transported the three women to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

At this time, it was unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the wrong-way collision on State Route 512.

There are currently no additional details available to the public about the crash at this time, but authorities will provide more information when it becomes accessible.
