Eight Hurt in Bus Collision near Benson Road
RENTON, WA (August 7, 2024) – Friday evening, eight unidentified victims sustained injuries in a bus accident on South Puget Drive.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m., in between Benson Road and Benson Drive on July 12th.
Investigators say the driver of a King County Metro bus suffered a medical emergency and lost control. The bus then veered off the road and into a nearby embankment before becoming trapped in a ditch.
Paramedics arrived and transported eight passengers from inside the bus to a nearby hospital for further treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel also treated the bus driver at the scene. Police officers have not yet released the identities of those involved.
Moreover, both directions of South Puget Drive were blocked during the incident. Lanes were reopened afterwards, and further investigation took place.
