3 Hospitalized after Multi-Car Collision on North Sam Houston Tollway [Houston, TX]
Three Injured in Four-Vehicle Accident near Sam Houston Race Park
HOUSTON, TX (August 7, 2024) – Early Monday, at least three people sustained injuries in a multi-car collision on North Sam Houston Tollway.
Dispatchers received calls around 5:00 a.m., near the Sam Houston Race Park on July 29th.
First responders arrived to the westbound lanes and located at least four vehicles involved in the crash.
Investigation showed that a motorist and another driver were changing a tire on the shoulder when another vehicle hit them. A fourth vehicle also became involved.
Paramedics transported at least three occupants to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Crews say one of the victims was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Consequently, all northbound lanes were blocked while they cleared out the scene. Lanes were reopened by 8:00 a.m., and no other updates were made available.
