One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near St. Dominic’s Drive

MANTECA, CA (August 6, 2024) – A fatal DUI crash on Yosemite Avenue led to the arrest of Blake Joseph Walker, late Sunday evening. 

Police responded to the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m., at the 1700 block of West Yosemite Avenue near St Dominic’s Drive. 

Based on reports, the driver of a vehicle hit the pedestrian who was attempting to cross in front of Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center. 

An employee from the hospital contacted 911 to report the collision.

Authorities said the impact of the crash left the pedestrian with fatal injuries. Although, the identity of the deceased victim has not been revealed to the public. 

Responding personnel shut down the surrounding roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, officers arrested the driver, 38-year-old Blake Joseph Walker of Manteca, for driving under the influence of marijuana. Officials booked Walker in San Joaquin County Jail for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
