40-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after SUV Crash near Fremont Avenue

LUBBOCK, TX (August 6, 2024) – Sunday evening, Juan Rios Jr. was fatally struck in a motorcycle collision on 82nd Street.

Around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene near Fremont Avenue on July 28th.

Investigators say Rios Jr. was riding a motorcycle east on the 3100 block of 82nd Street.

The driver of a westbound SUV then made a turn onto Fremont Avenue and collided with the motorcyclist. Paramedics arrived and rushed 40-year-old Rios Jr. to University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
