88-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Amherst
LAMB COUNTY, TX (August 5, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, a pedestrian accident on Farm-to-Market Road 1055 killed Anna Belle Byrd.
Dispatchers received calls around 5:30 a.m., in Amherst on July 24th.
Reports indicate that the driver of a westbound 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup-truck hit Byrd who was walking along the road.
Due to the impact of the crash, medics pronounced 88-year-old Byrd, deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Emergency responders shut down the surrounding roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
