Male Driver Killed in Semi-Truck Collision on Highway 99 [Madera, CA]
Man Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Accident near Avenue 9 and Avenue 12
MADERA, CA (August 1, 2024) – Early Thursday afternoon, one male driver was pronounced dead after a semi-truck collision on Highway 99.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:15 p.m., in between Avenue 9 and Avenue 12.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a northbound semi-truck hauling produce collided with a disabled semi parked on the right shoulder of the highway.
Investigators said the driver working on his disabled truck sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Following preliminary duties, Madera Police Officers only described the deceased victim as a man around 50. Meanwhile, the semi-driver hauling the produce did not sustain any injuries.
Responding personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
No further details regarding the fatal Highway 99 semi-truck collision have been released. Madera County officials will provide more information once available.
