Rider Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 580 [Oakland, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident near Fruitvale Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (July 31, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, one rider was struck and killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 580.
The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Fruitvale Avenue.
For reasons under investigation, multiple vehicles struck a motorcyclist that was heading east. The impact of the crash sent the rider into the No.4 lane while the motorcycle stopped in the No.3 lane.
A passing ambulance that was transporting a patent also hit the motorcycle in the No.3 lane.
First responders declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. However, the rider’s identity has not been released to the public.
