25-Year-Old Man Dead, 21-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Head-On Crash near Mile Marker 384

PECOS COUNTY, TX (July 31, 2024) – Saturday morning, Nicholas Calloway was killed in a head-on collision on Farm-to-Market Road 1053.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m., near Mile Marker 384 on July 20th.

Reports indicate that Donnavin Brown was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup-truck south on the highway. For reasons under investigation, Brown then veered into the northbound lanes.

In attempt to avoid a crash, an oncoming 2024 GMC Sierra pickup-truck, driven by Calloway swerved into the southbound lanes. However, Brown traveled back into the southbound lanes and the two vehicles collided head-on.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 25-year-old Calloway dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took 21-year-old Brown, of Odessa to Midland Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, authorities disclosed no other information, and the crash remains under investigation.
