29-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Accident near Sagebrush Drive
ANTIOCH, CA (July 31, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Linda Woolridge was fatally struck in a DUI bicycle collision on Lone Tree Way.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:10 a.m., near Sagebrush Drive on July 27th.
Investigators reported that a 38-year-old driver fatally struck a woman riding her bicycle.
Due to the impact of the collision, the bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries, and police administered first aid until Con Fire arrived.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Police officers later identified the deceased victim as 29-year-old Woolridge, of Antioch.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that alcohol was the primary factor in the collision. Police records show that authorities have arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing serious bodily injury or death.
