Woman Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision on West Obama Boulevard [Los Angeles, CA]
Suspect at Large after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near La Cienega Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 30, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on West Obama Boulevard killed one woman.
Around 1:55 a.m., dispatchers received calls at the 5798 block of West Obama Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard in Baldwin Hills.
Based on a witness report, the driver of a dark-colored sedan hit a woman who was crossing the street with her boyfriend against a green light.
Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
First responders declared the 40-year-old female victim dead at the scene. However, her name remains undisclosed to the public.
Investigators said the boyfriend of the victim managed to evade the oncoming vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.
At this time, the police are searching for a dark-colored Toyota Camry that fled the scene before the authorities arrived. The city of Los Angeles is also offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who can lead the authorities to the suspect’s arrest.
