John Skipper Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 99 [Stockton, CA]
59-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident near Wilson Way
STOCKTON, CA (July 30, 2024) – Saturday evening, a motorcycle crash along Highway 99 claimed the life of John Skipper.
California Highway Patrol officers received reports shortly after 8:30 p.m., near Wilson Way.
Per reports, the rider of a southbound 2017 Harley Davidson was traveling at about 80 miles per hour on the freeway.
The motorcyclist then changed lanes behind a 2022 Toyota sedan that was traveling at about 65 miles per hour. In response, the rider hit their brakes and lost control of the motorcycle, hitting the back of the Toyota.
The impact of the crash sent the motorcycle into the No. 3 lane and left the rider with fatal injuries.
Responding medical personnel declared the motorcyclist, identified as 56-year-old Skipper, of San Leandro, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old woman driving the Toyota, along with her two passengers in their 70s, remained uninjured from the collision.
Following preliminary duties, investigators suspect intoxication to be a factor in the crash.
