Female Driver Injured in Pickup Truck Vs. Plane Collision near Pleasant Grove Road
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (July 24, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, a plane crash on Nicholaus Avenue sent a female driver to a hospital.
Around 6:00 a.m., dispatchers received calls near Pleasant Grove Road.
According to the FAA, a single-engine Republic RC-3 crop duster hit a fence while attempting to take off from an airstrip.
As a result, the plane went down the nearby roadway and collided with a Ford F-150, spilling around 280 gallons of aviation gasoline (AVGAS)
Police did not report any serious injuries at the scene. However, the female F-150 driver was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.
The pilot involved in the incident cooperated with the investigators at the scene. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board continue to investigate the Nicholaus Avenue plane crash.
