SUV Driver Killed in Head-On Crash on State Highway 64 [Rusk County, TX]
One Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Farm-to-Market Road 15
RUSK COUNTY, TX (July 24, 2024) – Early Monday afternoon, the driver of an SUV was killed in a head-on crash on State Highway 64.
The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene around 1:00 p.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 15 on July 9th.
Investigators say the driver of a white SUV veered into oncoming lanes. As a result, the white SUV collided head-on with an oncoming black SUV.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the driver of the white SUV dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, two occupants of the black SUV were transported to UT Health Hospital for further treatment.
During preliminary duties, crews stated that rainy weather conditions may have played a factor. Officers blocked off the intersection before it was reopened around 5:00 p.m.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
