Male Rider Pronounced Dead after Box Truck Vs. Motorcycle Collision near South Gillis Road

STOCKTON, CA (July 24, 2024) – Friday evening, one man was pronounced dead after a box-truck vs motorcycle accident on State Route 4.

The incident occurred around 5:08 p.m., just west of South Gillis Road on the eastbound lanes of the freeway.

California Highway Patrol officers say the rider of a 2021 Kawasaki 400 motorcycle crossed the double yellow lines to pass traffic ahead.

The rider then struck the left side of a 2015 freight box-truck attempting to make a left turn onto Gillis Road. 

Responding medical personnel declared the 44-year-old Farmington man riding the motorcycle dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Police also said the 55-year-old man from Manteca driving the box truck did not sustain injuries from the collision. 

Stockton Officials will provide additional information regarding the Gillis Road two-vehicle crash once available.
