Two Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash near Highway 187

HATCH, NM (July 22, 2024) – Thursday, two victims were killed and two were hospitalized after a tractor-trailer collision on Interstate 25.

Just before 12:00 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near Highway 187 on July 4th after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

For reasons under investigation, a tractor-trailer and another vehicle collided with each other.

Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel later pronounced two victims deceased. Although, authorities have not yet released their names or place of residency.

Paramedics also transported two occupants, one by airlift, to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Responding troopers blocked off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, traffic was detoured to New Mexico Highway 187.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal tractor-trailer collision on Interstate 25.
