Man and Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near East 28th Street
SIGNAL HILL, CA (July 18, 2024) – Sunday, a two-vehicle crash on Cherry Avenue claimed the lives of Sheldon Turchin and one other person.
The incident occurred at the 2800 block of Cherry Avenue near East 28th Street around 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, the units from the LA County Fire Department discovered two cars with significant damages.
Responding medical personnel declared the driver and one passenger from one of the vehicles dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle sustained unspecified injuries.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the deceased male victim as 88-year-old Sheldon Turchin. Authorities only identified the second victim as a woman in her 70s.
Signal Hill Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
