Man Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Collision near Lockwood Street

OXNARD, CA (July 18, 2024) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian crash on Rose Avenue involving a sedan left a man critically injured.

Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., near Lockwood Street, just south of a nearby Best Buy store.

Police officers say the driver of a 2014 southbound Toyota Camry hit a man who was walking across Rose Avenue in a westerly direction. Investigators claimed the Camry was traveling with a green light at the time. 

Medical responders transported the victim to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition.

Authorities said the 29-year-old Camry driver from Oxnard remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, officials are asking those who witnessed the Rose Avenue pedestrian crash to contact the Oxnard Police Department at 805-385-7600.
