Male Driver Killed, One Hurt in Semi-Truck Crash on Road 208 [Porterville, CA]
49-Year-Old Strathmore Man Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Semi-Truck Collision near Highway 190
PORTERVILLE, CA (July 18, 2024) – Early Monday morning, a male driver was killed and another was hurt in a semi-truck crash on Road 208.
The fatal collision happened shortly before 5:30 a.m., in the area of Road 208 and Highway 190, just outside Porterville.
California Highway Patrol officers say a southbound 2013 GMC Terrain collided with a westbound big-rig towing two flatbed trailers.
Investigators claimed the driver of the GMC failed to stop at a posted stop sign and hit the right side of the flatbeds.
Responding paramedics declared the 49-year-old man driving the GMC dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his two passengers were rushed to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment of minor to major injuries.
Police said the big rig driver did not sustain injuries from the incident. Porterville Officials will provide more information regarding the fatal Road 208 two-vehicle crash once available.
