Female Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Deadly Collision near Sierra Vista

FRESNO, CA (July 17, 2024) – Friday evening, one woman was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Michigan Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., near Sierra Vista Avenue.  

According to the police, a man in his 30s riding a dirt bike hit a woman in her 40s while traveling northbound on Sierra Vista. 

Following the crash, the motorcyclist continued to a liquor store at Sierra Vista and Shields where the officers were contacted. Police said the rider cooperated with the investigators. 

First responders transported the female victim to Community Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. However, the identity of the deceased pedestrian remains undisclosed to the public. 

At this time, the Fresno Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
