Three Hospitalized after Motorcycle Collision near Pennsylvania Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 17, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a head-on crash on Cesar Chavez Street left two motorcycle officers and a driver injured.

First responders arrived to the scene around 5:00 p.m., on the westbound lanes of Cesar Chavez Street near Pennsylvania Avenue.

Per reports, two westbound motorcycle officers collided head-on with a civilian vehicle going the opposite direction. 

Medics arrived and transported the two officers and the driver of the second vehicle to a nearby hospital. The San Francisco Police Officers Association later reported that one of the officers was in critical condition. 

Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the collision. Officials are asking those who witnessed the Cesar Chavez Street head-on crash to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444.
