1 Dead, Lucas Suarez Ramos Arrested after DUI Pedestrian Accident on North Cherokee Lane [Lodi, CA]
49-Year-Old Man Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near East Elm Street
LODI, CA (July 17, 2024) – Thursday evening, Lucas Suarez Ramos was arrested after a fatal pedestrian accident on North Cherokee Lane.
First responders arrived to the scene around 9:40 p.m., near East Elm Street after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver of a Ford Explorer hit a male pedestrian in a wheelchair, causing life-threatening injuries.
Responding medical personnel transported the male victim to a nearby hospital where he died. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.
During clearing operations, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police later arrested 49-year-old Lucas Suarez Ramos for DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and several felony charges.
Authorities later booked Ramos in San Joaquin County Jail with a $1.56 million bail.
