32-Year-Old Police Officer Killed in Motorcycle Collision near Orange Drive

VACAVILLE, CA (July 16, 2024) – Thursday, Serena Rodriguez was arrested and Matthew Bowen died in a motorcycle crash on Leisure Town Road.

The fatal collision happened around 10:00 a.m., at the intersection of Leisure Town Road and Orange Drive.

Reports indicate that a patrol officer on a motorcycle performed a traffic stop when the female driver struck the officer with her car. 

First responders transported the officer, 32-year-old Bowen, to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center where he died from his injuries. 

Meanwhile, authorities arrested 24-year-old Serena Rodriguez, of Auburn for DUI and homicide charges, causing injury or death.

Officer Bowen served under the Vacaville Police Department in June 2023 and left behind his wife, two sons, parents, and brother. The California Highway Patrol closed the Leisure Town Road and Orange Drive for further investigation.
