82-Year-Old Truck Driver Pronounced Dead after Fiery Accident near 7th Street
PHOENIX, AZ (July 16, 2024) – Late Saturday morning, Marchell Larson was fatally injured in a fiery truck collision on Dunlap Avenue.
The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m., near 7th Street on June 29th.
Investigators say 82-year-old Larson was driving a truck on Dunlap Avenue when he crashed into a concrete wall, causing the truck to catch fire.
A nearby witness was able to extricate Larson before first responders arrived. Paramedics quickly transported 82-year-old Larson to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the events leading up to the incident were not yet released, and an active investigation is underway.
