44-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead, after DUI Collision near Southern Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (July 16, 2024) – Saturday night, Henry Mandley killed, and Fernando Sanchez was arrested after a DUI crash on 35th Avenue.
The incident happened just before 6:00 p.m., near the intersection of 35th and Southern Avenue on July 13th.
Officers say 22-year-old Rodriguez-Sanchez was driving in the bicycle lane to bypass stopped traffic. He then ran a red-light and struck another vehicle. The impact ejected Mandley, from his vehicle onto the road.
Medics arrived and transported Mandley and three others to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 44-year-old Mandley deceased.
Following preliminary duties, officers arrested and booked Rodriguez-Sanchez into jail on charges of aggravated assault, endangerment, leaving the scene of a fatal collision, and felony DUI.
