One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Cameron Avenue

VISALIA, CA (July 11, 2024) – Tuesday evening, one victim was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Mooney Boulevard.

The Visalia Police Department responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., near Cameron Avenue on July 2nd.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian near the intersection. First responders located the victim down on the road with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

Moreover, the driver who struck the victim parked in a nearby parking lot to call for authorities. Investigators say the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, alcohol or drugs were ruled out as a factor in the crash, and further investigation remains underway.
