Family of Five Critically Injured in Bicycle Collision near Twin Tree Lane
GARDEN GROVE, CA (July 11, 2024) – Sunday, a crash on Haster Street left Angel Mejia, Angela Hernandez-Mejia, and three children hospitalized.
Dispatchers received calls around 7:35 p.m., at the 12300 block of Haster Street near Twin Tree Lane.
Reports indicate that the driver of a black 2003 Toyota Camry struck a man and woman who were riding electric bicycles with their three children in tow.
The driver of the Camry then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victims. The father, identified as 27-year-old Angel Mejia, his 5-year-old son, Jacob, and his 7-year-old daughter, Gianna, remained in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the mother, 25-year-old Angela Hernandez-Mejia, and their infant were sent to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
Following the crash, authorities managed to locate and arrest 29-year-old Ceferino Ramos of Santa Ana for suspected DUI.
At this time, a GoFundMe page was created to help the family fo medical expenses during this time.
