Male Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Mount Whitney Avenue [Fresno County, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near East Street
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 10, 2024) – Friday evening, one male rider was killed in a motorcycle accident on Mount Whitney Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 9:18 p.m., near East Street and Camden.
Investigators say the driver of a northbound Ford F-150 pickup-truck failed to yield the right-of-way to a motorcyclist.
As a result, the pickup-truck continued into the intersection and struck the rider. Due to the impact of the crash, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries. Although, police have not yet released their identity.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old boy driving the pickup-truck and his passenger suffered minor injuries.
The pickup driver was later booked into Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center for suspected DUI after being medically cleared.
Fresno County officials will release the identity of the deceased motorcyclist once the next of kin has been notified. The CHP continues to investigate the fatal Mount Whitney Avenue two-vehicle crash.
