Alexis Delatorre Killed in Head-On Accident on State Route 125 [Walla Walla, WA]
23-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision on Commercial Drive
WALLA WALLA, WA (July 10, 2024) – Wednesday morning, Alexis Delatorre was fatally injured in a head-on accident on State Route 125.
Authorities responded to the scene around 10:00 a.m., near Commercial Drive on June 19th.
Police officers say the 45-year-old male driver of a vehicle was heading north and crossed into oncoming lanes.
As a result, the wrong-way vehicle struck Delatorre’s southbound car head-on. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 23-year-old Delatorre dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the suspect driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Charges against the driver were pending at that time.
Also, authorities blocked the intersection for several hours before reopening it by 3:30 p.m. It was unknown why the suspect crossed the lanes, and further investigation remains active.
