34-Year-Old Speeding Rider Dies in Motorcycle Crash near Redway Community

HUMBOLDT, CA (July 9, 2024) – Late Saturday evening, a motorcycle collision on Redwood Drive claimed the life of Raul Villalobos.

Authorities responded to the scene around 10:35 p.m., just north of the Redway Community on June 29th.

Investigators say 34-year-old Villalobos was riding his motorcycle north on Redwood without his helmet on at a high rate of speed.

The rider then veered off the road and crashed into an embankment. Responding paramedics arrived and immediately transported Villalobos to Jerold Phelps Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the cause of the crash was not yet determined, and the CHP Garberville Area Office is handling further investigation.
