Male Driver Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash on Lomas Boulevard Northeast [Albuquerque, NM]
One Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Rollover Collision on Pennsylvania Street Northeast
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (July 9, 2024) – Late Wednesday evening, one man was pronounced dead after a rollover crash on Lomas Boulevard Northeast.
The Albuquerque Police Department responded to the scene near Pennsylvania Street on June 26th.
Investigators say the driver of a silver 2013 Chevrolet SUV was heading west and made a turn onto Pennsylvania Street through a green light.
Meanwhile, a white 2021 Jeep was heading east at high rates of speed and crashed into the Chevy and a telephone pole before overturning. Emergency crews arrived and extracted the Jeep driver who sustained life-threatening injuries.
Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released his identity.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy suffered minor injuries, and paramedics transported him to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
Alcohol or impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and further investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more details will be provided about the rollover crash on Lomas Boulevard.
