65-Year-Old Woman Dies, Two Drivers Injured in Car Accident near Mile Marker 477

EASTLAND COUNTY, TX (July 9, 2024) – Monday morning, Brenda Lucas was killed and Donald Lucas and Keven Howton were hurt in a car crash.

The fatal incident happened on June 24th on Farm-to-Market Road 2214 near mile marker 477.

Investigators say 29-year-old Keven was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe south and attempted to pass another vehicle in a “no pass zone”.

As a result, the Chevy collided head-on with a Lexus sedan, occupied by Donald and Brenda.

Paramedics arrived and took 65-year-old Brenda to Eastland Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, crews treated 29-year-old Keven and 74-year-old Donald for minor injuries at the scene.

No updates were made available as of this moment, and the crash remains under investigation.
