One Pronounced Dead after Speeding Motorcycle Collision near Marquette Avenue

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (July 9, 2024) – Tuesday evening, one rider was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monte Vista Boulevard.

First responders arrived to the scene around 8:45 p.m., near Marquette Avenue on June 18th.

Following preliminary duties, officers say the rider of a motorcycle was heading west on Marquette Avenue at a high rate of speed.

As the motorcyclist approached the intersection, they failed to stop at the red light and rear-ended a black Toyota Corolla.

The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the curb. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

At this time, no additional information was released and the crash remains under investigation.
