Tiger Gutierrez Dead, Jesus Sandoval-Martinez Arrested after Hit-and-Run Crash on Coors Boulevard [Albuquerque, NM]

22-Year-Old Driver Dies in DWI Collision near Montano Road Northwest
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (July 8, 2024) – Saturday, Tiger Gutierrez died and Jesus Sandoval-Martinez was arrested after a car crash on Coors Boulevard.
The Albuquerque Police Department responded to the intersection of Coors Boulevard and Montano Road Northwest on July 1st.
Per reports, 21-year-old Sandoval-Martinez was driving a grey Dodge Dakota pickup-truck north on Coors Boulevard at high rates of speed.
Officers say the Tesla and the Toyota were both heading west on Montano Road at the time.
The pickup-truck then went through a stop-sign at the intersection, consequently colliding with a black Tesla and a Toyota Corolla.
Following the impact, 21-year-old Sandoval-Martinez exited his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot. However, witnesses were able to follow him, leading to his arrest at a nearby Walgreens.
Paramedics arrived and transported the Tesla driver, 22-year-old Gutierrez and his passenger to UNM Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced Gutierrez deceased.
In addition, crews took the Corolla driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.
Police eventually booked Sandoval-Martinez into jail where he faces multiple charges such as two counts of vehicular homicide (DWI), reckless driving, hit-and-run, and failure to obey traffic control devices/signs.
