64-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized, 19-Year-Old Suspect Arrested after Two-Vehicle Collision on Idalou Highway
LUBBOCK, TX (July 8, 2024) – Teodora Castro was hurt Friday and Saul Hernandez was arrested after a crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The incident took place at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Idalou Highway around 11:30 p.m., on June 14th.
According to reports, 19-year-old Hernandez was driving his pickup-truck in the westbound lanes of the 1500 block of East 19th Street.
There, Hernandez entered Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and collided with 64-year-old Castro. Paramedics arrived and took Castro to the University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities evaluated Hernandez and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. Following preliminary duties, police arrested and charged Hernandez with intoxicated assault. Once available, further details will be provided.
