Leanna Salazar and Son Killed in Rollover Accident on Highway 84 [Lubbock, TX]
33-Year-Old Woman and 2-Year-Old Child Killed in Fatal Crash near County Road 3100
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (July 8, 2024) – Tuesday, Leanna Salazar and her 2-year-old child were killed in a rollover accident on Highway 84.
Just before 4:00 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near County Road 3100 on June 25th.
Per reports, Salazar was driving a vehicle east and lost control of the vehicle for reasons unknown.
As a result, Salazar overcorrected in attempt to get back onto the lanes, before the vehicle overturned on the westbound lanes. Investigators say the occupants were not wearing their seat belts at the time.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, crews pronounced 33-year-old Salazar, and her 2-year-old son, Zaydrian, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took two other passengers to University Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
No additional information was added at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
