54-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Car vs Bicycle Collision near 20th Street

WESTMINSTER, CA (July 3, 2024) – Early Friday morning, a man was fatally struck in a bicycle accident on Beach Boulevard. 

Police responded to the scene around 5:00 a.m., at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and 20th Street. 

Upon arrival, officers learned that a tan Lincoln Towncar hit the man riding a bicycle along the traffic lanes. 

Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities later described the victim as a 54-year-old man from Alaska. 

Following the incident, the driver of the Lincoln remained at the scene and contacted 9-1-1. Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the incident. 

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Those who witnessed the fatal Beach Boulevard bicycle accident are asked to contact local officers as soon as possible. Once available, more details will be released.
