Woman Killed, 2 Injured in Red-Light Accident on Highway 288 [Houston, TX]
Unidentified Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near Airport Boulevard
HOUSTON, TX (June 27th, 2024) – Late Monday night, one woman was killed and two were injured in a red-light accident on Highway 288.
Dispatchers responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., near Airport Boulevard on June 10th after receiving multiple calls in the area.
Investigators say the driver of a white SUV ran a red light and crashed into a sedan at the intersection. First responders transported the female driver and her passenger to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the woman dead at the hospital. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.
Paramedics also took a male occupant from the other vehicle to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information about the fatal red-light accident on Highway 288 is still currently underway.
