Male Pedestrian Killed in Scooter Accident on Highway 87 [San Jose, CA]
23-Year-Old San Jose Man Pronounced Dead after Sedan vs Scooter Collision near Taylor Street
SAN JOSE, CA (June 27th, 2024) – Early Friday morning, a scooter accident on Highway 87 claimed the life of a male pedestrian.
Authorities responded to the scene around 2:50 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Taylor Street.
Police officers say the driver of a 2021 Tesla sedan collided with a person riding a scooter. First responders located the rider of the Lime scooter lying along the highway with significant injuries.
Paramedics declared the 23-year-old San Jose man dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old man from Elk Grove driving the Tesla remained unharmed from the crash.
Following preliminary duties, authorities made no arrests. San Jose Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal Highway 87 scooter accident to contact their offices as soon as possible.
