41-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Motorcycle Crash near Robert Mondavi Winery

NAPA COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, one man was fatally struck in a motorcycle collision on Highway 29. 

Police officers responded to the scene around 5:40 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway just north of the Robert Mondavi Winery.

Based on the initial investigation, a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle crossed the solid double lines to pass another vehicle. 

The motorcyclist then collided head-on with a 2010 Mercedes-Benz going in the opposite direction of the highway. 

Emergency responders declared the 41-year-old man from Napa riding the Kawasaki dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old San Francisco man driving the Mercedes did not sustain injuries from the incident. 

Authorities closed a portion of the highway between Oakville Cross Road and Highway 128 for investigation. Napa County Officials will provide the identity of the deceased motorcyclist once available.
