Man Dies in Head-On Accident on Shore Road [San Benito County, CA]

One Pronounced Dead, One Hospitalized after 2-Car Collision near Lake Road

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was killed in a head-on accident on Shore Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:55 a.m., just east of Lake Road.

California Highway Patrol officers learned that a 1999 Toyota Camry crossed the double yellow lines while traveling eastbound. As a result, the Toyota collided head-on with an oncoming 2020 Hyundai Accent.

Medical personnel transported the 20-year-old Camry driver from Los Banos to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.

The driver was eventually airlifted to Natividad Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators claimed the driver failed to wear his seatbelt prior to the collision.

Meanwhile, the 67-year-old Hollister man driving the Hyundai was also hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries.

The San Benito County Officials do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the fatal Shore Road two-vehicle crash. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal head-on accident on Shore Road.
