Driver Dies in Bus Collision on Division Street [Arlington, TX]
DUI Driver Pronounced Dead after Bus Accident near North Davis Drive
ARLINGTON, TX (June 26, 2024) – Friday evening, one driver was pronounced dead after a bus collision on Division Street.
The Arlington Police Department responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near North Davis Drive on June 14th.
Police officers say the driver of a Chevrolet Cruze was heading west at high rates of speed and ran a red light at the intersection. The Chevy then swerved and crossed into oncoming traffic, where it slammed into a bus.
The impact ejected the Chevy driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, onto the road. Medics arrived and pronounced the driver of the Chevy dead at the scene.
Crews say the bus driver sustained only minor wounds.
Upon further investigation, troopers learned that the Chevy was involved in a crash at the intersection of Division Street and Cooper Street. Both vehicles remained and the drivers exchanged information.
Meanwhile, authorities blocked Division Street between Davis and Fielder for five hours while they cleared out the scene and conducted further investigation.
