Jose Encizo and Emanuel Montoya Arrested after Fatal DUI Accident South O Street [Tulare, CA]
2 Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Bardsley Avenue
TULARE, CA (June 25, 2024) – Saturday morning, Jose Encizo and Emanuel Montoya were arrested after a fatal DUI accident on South O Street.
Officers responded to the scene just before 5:00 a.m., at the intersection of Bardsley Avenue and O Street on June 15th.
Reports indicate that a 2005 Nissan Sentra and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata collided in the area. The impact pushed the Nissan into a nearby Burger King drive-thru.
During preliminary duties, officers discovered that the Hyundai had been reported stolen in Visalia. As a result, police detained three boys near the Hyundai.
Authorities arrested the 17-year-old driver from Goshen for driving under the influence and booked him into juvenile hall. Crews also arrested and charged his passengers, 18-year-old Jose Alfredo Encizo from Tulare and 18-year-old Emanuel Montoya from Goshen, with possessing a stolen vehicle.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the 35-year-old male driver of the Nissan dead at the scene. Crews also transported his 43-year-old passenger to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away.
Furthermore, Emanuel Montoya needed medical assistance.
Officials have not provided any additional information about the crash at this time; however, they will offer more details once they are available.
