12-Year-Old Boy Suffers Medical Emergency at Wild Rivers Waterpark in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, CA (June 24, 2024) – A 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead Saturday, after a Wild Rivers Water Park incident.

Around 11:07 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Wild Rivers Water Park at 10000 Great Park Boulevard in Irvine.

Officials with the water park issued a statement explaining that the young boy experienced a medical emergency, while near a pool in the park.

Emergency medical responders treated the young boy at the scene before taking him to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the 12-year-old boy deceased.

Following preliminary duties, the Irvine Police Department does not believe the deadly incident is water related.
