2 Killed, 2 Injured in Rollover Collision on Long Drive [Houston, TX]
Two Pronounced Dead after Police Chase Crash near Lancaster Street
HOUSTON, TX (June 24, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, two victims were killed and two others were hurt in a rollover collision on Long Drive.
Dispatchers received calls around 2:30 a.m., near Lancaster Street just south of Interstate 610 on May 28th.
According to reports, a vehicle occupied by 4 people ran through a red light at the intersection and crashed into a vehicle.
Police then ran after the suspect vehicle for more about two minutes before the suspects slammed into a concrete barrier.
The vehicle then overturned, causing life-threatening injuries to its occupants. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced one passenger dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took three others to a nearby hospital where another occupant died.
Following preliminary duties, authorities found burglary tools in the suspect vehicle. One of the survivors is the driver, and he will be facing felony evading charges and other related charges.
